View Full Version : Private messages
Privat messages seem to end up different places.
Depending on where you start from, they end up
in the old forum, the new one -- or nowhere.
The "Send PM" button in the left menu is supposed to send to your downline. I tried this, and got the message:

Your message has been sent to:
ERR1fauziah
but I can't find that user anywhere.

ERR1 is an error code, fauziah is the username. I'll be looking into this, but most likely that user doesn't have a forum account right now.
Does he need that to get private messages?
And if he has level 4 or better, how could that happen?
This user, fauziah, was not activated yet. Unactivated members shouldn't receive PMs, and of course there should be no error.
I sent the PM to members with level 4 or better, but no one else got the message either. Two members would qualify.

Well technically someone who hasn't activated is level 0, which is better than level 4 =P Definitely a bug, but it explains why.

Whilst it makes (logical) sense that non-activated account is level 0 ... would it be possible to script it so that new accounts come in at level (highest) + 1?
So for example; if we are currently running at 13 levels .... new members would come in at level 14.
As soon as they surfed and activated the account, they will have earned some points and would start to move up the rankings.

poor Tim,
we're over-working him - you never knew adding a new forum was such hard work!!
I'll say a big thank you for all the work you've done to make the transition as smooth as it has been!

Yes thanks, Tim -- it's actually working now! :)
