Banners

To get started adding banners, you will need to know the Banner Ad Image URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);) and the Site URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);).

The Banner Ad Image URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);) will have one of these following extensions: .GIF or .JPG or .PNG

The Site URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);) is the web page you want visitors to "goto" after clicking your Banner Ad.

You will be given HTML code like the example below. The Banner Ad Image URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);) can be found in the IMG tag, in between the quotes of the SRC attribute (in orange). The Site URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);) can be found in the A tag, in between the quotes of the HREF attribute (in red). Simply copy and paste the URLs from inside the code, into the banner manager.
<IMG SRC="http://www.plan4power.org/images/banners/dougbanner.jpg">
<A HREF="http://ads.profitrally.com/c_j6typq" Target=_blank>
</A>
AD URL: http://www.plan4power.org/images/banners/dougbanner.jpg "ADD" button
Site URL: http://ads.profitrally.com/c_j6ypq
Once you have inserted the URLs, click "Add" and a preview of the selected banner will appear.

Be sure that it is the right one, click the banner to see if it is working correctly, if it doesn't click the back arrow and edit the URLs. The preview is exactly how your banner will look, so make sure it looks right before hitting Yes.

Repeat these steps for each banner you want added into rotation...

And finally, all banners need to be approved by Admin. You don't have to contact them, they will take care of it as soon as possible.

You can go ahead and assign banner impressions before it has been approved, so it will start being shown after being approved. Don't have any banner impressions? You can convert credits to impressions here (http://www.startxchange.com/members/convert.php). You can mass assign impressions here (http://www.startxchange.com/members/banners-assign.php)

Remember that StartXchange is a Family Friendly exchange, and so banners that show content not suitable for children won't be approved.

NOTE: Keep track of your Banners (http://www.startxchange.com/members/banners.php) to make sure they are active...If any of them have stopped working, all you will see is a - x - in the left hand corner, just click the "Pause" button and continue monitoring...
Once you see they are active again, just click the "UnPause" button and they will be back in rotation.

How to use the Banner Creator

The Banner Creator allows you to make your own banners, advertising whatever you want! You can find it under Tools => Banner Creator (http://www.startxchange.com/members/bannercreator.php).

To create a banner enter your photo URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);), 3 lines of text, select the fonts and sizes, and then click Generate Image. Once you have it the way you want, pick a Banner Slot and click Save Image.

Free members have 3 Banner Slots, and Upgraded Members have 10.
Your "Saved Banners" can be changed anytime. (Here's an example)

Tip: If you don't have a photo URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);), you can upload a photo to StartXchange. Goto Tools => Upload Photo (http://www.startxchange.com/members/uploadphoto.php). Once uploaded, right click the middle sized photo and select Properties. Then copy the "Location" or "Address / URL (http://javascript<b></b>:void(0);)" into the Banner Creator.

Note: If you select a Banner Slot that is already being used, it will save over the old image.
