Hi All

I'm working on updating the forum. The last upgrade introduced changes to the templates which was causing issues with some features. I'm probably going to have to find a new theme to use that'll update correctly.

One of the issues was infractions.. I wasn't able to view or add them! So spammers went unpunished :(

most of the spammers fell foul of the Super Mod ;)

many a post has suddenly gone to the great grey delete bin, complete with infraction and negative rep :)

The "Members" link has disappeared from the forum.
Would like to have it back! :)

Some images don't show; like "go back" and "Reload this page" when you write a post. I'd use a background color and plain text.... :)

Yes, I will be looking for a new theme. The red version should be the same, but the orange has the new "enhancements" LOL

One of the enhancements to the evo orange theme is the addition of a buddy list or as it calls them friends. You will find it under Networking in the UserCP area
or simply go here:

However, it seems those new buttons that you added can be clicked but they just
show an -x- and their instructions...Maybe you are not done yet :confused:

EDIT: I guess it must have to do with me using IE7 since I cannot use FF ???

Anyway, moving the rep and report buttons was a nice touch...

I guess I'm not understanding the purpose of the 'buddy list'. Would say more about this feature? I had someone send me a 'buddy request' that I didn't know. I didn't have a problem accepting, but I would like to know more. Thank you.

Actually it's the 4th one and I have reported 3 of them ...
They also hit the Introductions Thread as well and
I left them a note to the effect that it wasn't a
good way to start out in the forum community :eek:

The Super Moderator Dude will probably ban them
for awhile from the forum for their indiscretions...

Personally I don't really get the point of the buddy system. Not yet, anyway. :)

I really preferred the orange over the rosy red...Or any neutral color would be nice?

And I agree it would be nice having the Member's Area link back...

Also, what is the purpose of having something in the link bar that has been disabled?

Interesting. I'm not in here for a day or so, and everybody's world turns upside down (like me being gone had anything to do with it).

I would have to agree with Inge's comment about doing experiments somewhere else before bringing them online here.

Well I change to the red theme, among other things because of that. And now it's gone from the red theme too.

It's no longer possible to switch theme.

Is this part of a hidden agenda? :)

LOL Sorry when I first started working on the new theme I was a bit sleep deprived and thought it was a good idea to remove the old ones.

The problem with the members links and such missing is that they were directly edited on the template. I'm going to try to find out a way to do it with a plugin, so no matter what theme it'll have it. Then I'll be more willing to have multiple themes as it won't take editing multiple times to do something. I was getting frustrated having to update 2 themes and remember which one had what =P

I understand. I also try to make things better, and then it turns out to be worse because there were things I didn't take into consideration. But then, often after much more work than intended, I make it work better.

It's all about taking the challenge and not giving up.

Now for an order, enjoy that new baby sleep when she does, only do what you have to here, then play with stuff here later I know it is hard to get sleep with two little ones but please take care of yourself and your family first

When you have a chance, can you look at moving the "TOP" link again.
