Consider this a continuation of Part 4 (http://forums.startxchange.com/showthread.php?t=1129) which gives you some insight into the "ACTIVITY GOAL" ... The following postings essentially explains what it takes to move up in Rank.
How many clicks to change rank?
The answer is, It Varies!
As you can see from my answer above about Ranks and Levels, each level is half the size of the one below it, BUT is occupied by more active members, so the difference between top and bottom of the level in terms of activity points is generally greater
To illustrate the top 15 members activity points (levels 1 - 4 i.e.) which does continually change according to the number of members surfing throughout the day
Level ..Ranks ..Activity points
1 ..1 . . 587973
2 ..2 3 ..540725 - 528124
3 . .4 7 . .403781 - 301825
4 . .8 15 ....299003 - 213031
So as you can see:
Level 2 is 47248 activity points wide
Level 3 is 101956 activity points wide
Level 4 is 85972.. activity points wide
The gap from Rank 16 to Rank 20 (which is not even half way to Level 6) is already 15892 activity points
So there is no direct correlation, but generally the higher the level, the bigger the gap to the next level up. Therefore you will move up in rank a lot faster than levels, but equally it means that it will take longer to drop levels the lower down you are.

Another question is about the Current Active Level: 5 Rank: 25 [L5] (<= thats mine, as an example) and what this means?
OK, put simply, your RANK determines what LEVEL you are on or, in other words: When you are surfing, it will show you your current RANK and the predicted LEVEL you will be at tomorrow if no one passes you.
Here is the Chart of Levels and Ranks.
It shows you how many are in each of the Levels and where each Rank ends/starts:
Level Rank
1 1
2 2 - 3
3 4 - 7
4 8 - 15
5 16 - 31
6 32 - 63
7 64 - 127
8 128 - 255
9 256 - 511
10 . .512 - 1023
11 . .1024 - 2047
12 . .2048 - 4095
13 . .4096 - 8181
14. .8192 - 16383
15 . .6384 - 32767
16 . .32768 - 65535
17 . .65536 - 131071
18 . .131072 - 262143
19 . .262144 - 524287
