Complete-A-Word

I have been a member of StartXchange for several years, and I finid it is one of the most dynamic and best exchanges available. I like surfing here.

But I'm confused. I have NEVER EVER won any credits in the Complete-A-Word thingimy. Now in recent months I have surfed almost every day, and usually in excess of 50 sites but frequently 100 to 200 sites.
So the people that are winning must be surfing substantially more to give them so many chances.
So my thinking is that yvonne12 must surf one helluva lot of sites to be featured 3 times in the last week.

Or can anyone please tell me if there is some secret to achieving these bonus credits.. :(

No secret. Just surf a lot and you will have a better chance.
I surf 1000-2000 sites most days, sometimes even more, but winning that game happens very rarely.

It is the luck of the draw you get 1 ticket for every 100 pages surfed provided you click the word then the button. So naturally the more you surf the higher the chances you have of a win because you have more tickets. I have seen people win twice in a week that only surf around 100-150 pages a day, so don't stress too much and there is no guarantee that if you did a surfing frenzy that you would win. I class it as an additional bonus, good to get but does not worry me if I don't receive it.

I must say I click the button but for 100 credits who cares, I can make a lot more than that for surfing and doing other things in StartXchange.

Hi Michael,

I believed I was unlucked in this prize. I surf an average 165-200 sites a day and never won, but I came in SXC only in 2007!

I too wonder Y I should break my surfing rhythm to claim 'complete-a-word' when I too have never won and I have surfed hundreds of pages a day. As of this positing, I have surfed 24309.63 - out of thousands of pages surfed - one would ponder "When will I appear on this list?"

I really appreciate this posting for a chance to vent on the same issue.

One thing is for sure: If you don't click, you won't win.
The little break you get by clicking the word game helps keeping you awake and alert. It's less intrusive than some of the "awake checks" in other TEs.

If it's any consolation, I surf an average of about 1500 pages a day, and I've won just a few times. There are lots of contenders! :)

I have surfed around 500 pages a day since 18th Feb, but not won yet. I have seen the word button 3 or 4 times since I joined Nov 2007. Could there be something wrong with my account, Tim or Richard?

To see the button, you need to click on the word http://images.startxchange.com/startxminiwashed.gif when it is bold ie completed. This happens when you have surfed 100 pages - it keeps count, so don't worry if you do not do 100 pages in 1 session :)

Donna, I love to surf, I do at least 250 per day normally 500-600 to contribute to my team's top position and my own level. I do understand "the more you work, the more you earn", I don't expect anything for free.
