View Full Version : Remember to say Thanks!
The "Thanks" button has been in place for some time now, and IMHO it's a Good Thing and a Great Idea.
However, I feel that there are not so many "Thanks" as there used to be.
A simple click on "THANKS" is faster and easier than writing a message. It doesn't take up much space either.
So please remember to use the THANKS button when appropriate, and set a lasting impression.
THANKS! :)

Best way is to add it to every traffic exchange you can!
Wel, Smiley tell you a joke because the safest way to get sacked from Adsense is to use it on TEs.
I don't think the site is very popular on TEs either. It simply doesn't belong here.
About adsense: Personally I stopped using it because the last thing I want to do is promote my competitors' businesses and inferiour products, even if they give me a few cents for it.

If you are looking to make money with Adsense, the best thing to do is write great content and get good rankings in search engines.
If you are looking to make money with traffic exchanes, then you don't want to be using Adsense (well unless you are doing both).

I thought that adsense and google to name two of those were banned on SX??
Adsense is not to be used on sites that are shown on TEs, but I don't think Google as such is banned. Tim can answer that.
I used adsense for a while but got an email from Google pointing out that I was displaying it on TEs and it was against their TOS.
I stopped using it and was actually glad I was rid of it.
Why should I promote someone else's sites and products for a symbolic sum?

I treat Adsense as just another banner on my websites. But then, I don't submit the actual web sites to the TEs, I create splash and capture pages that are devoid of any advertising beyond that for my own websites. It's a game of balance. Keep in mind, affiliate programs (adsense included) are meant to pay site owners to send potential customers to businesses, not charities for the lazy.
On the main subject, I think the thanks I put in yesterday says everything I need to with tact. ;)
Ameastre, I think you're quite right. Splash pages can be used in TEs and have a link to the site where you have the adsense.
My own sites are quick to load and there's not much need for a splash page. While I was watching the adsense I didn't like the ads there. They took the focus away from my site, and promoted products that I would never recommend to anyone.
About the thanks: I was a little afraid that some might think I was fishing for thanks to my own posts. That's not the case, but the amount of thanks I received for that post has convinced me that at least some understood my meaning! :)
I really have quite a lot of green squares and I feel almost ashamed because I don't feel I've earned them all.

When the content involves money (being mentioned any way), I have noticed more junk advertisements and stuff I'd be willing to call scams. Same with health related stuff along the lines of diets. Other content though, such as on my email stationery site, seems more on target. Sure a few 'competitors', but a lot more ads that I approve of.
