Sharma,

You may have blocked your cookies so the program has not registered your login properly. If your cookies are OK you should be able to use SX without logging in first.

I'm surprised that someone would actually LEAVE StartXchange -- unless of course you don't want or need traffic exchanges at all.
However, it's your privilege to do so! :)
I guess you have found the link: Account, Delete account near the end of the page.

Sharma,

your best bet is to get the system to resend your password - just go to the StartXchange members page (if it logs you in automatically, just logout) and click the forgot password link.

We would be sorry to see you leave, if you want to let us know why you are leaving it would be a great help - you can either post here, PM me or send it as a support request (email link in my signature below)

OK I am going to ask, at the risk of looking stupid:
Sometimes I click where I do not mean to click, it happens!
I hope that there is an "Are you sure you want to delete?" page behind the link.

Too chicken to test it LAM

Eh ... No, I wouldn't take that chance. Way too much to lose! :)

But sharma.... have you checked your Caps Lock key?

the link leads to a page asking you for your username and password to confirm you want to delete your account, so it should be a considered decision :)

(this from the team leader who booted himself off his own team, including clicking on Yes I am sure!!)

Hi,

I have gone to the page where you need to reenter your username and password and here is where it is saying that my username or password is invalid. Doesn't matter what i do it gives me the same response when i click on delete account.

Thanks
Sharma

You know, the owner doesn't want anyone to leave so he has made it impossible! :)
But seriously: You are in the forum, so you must have typed it correctly sometime? Have you ordered you password sent to you?
If you have trouble getting to the login page and log in, clear your cookies, refresh and try again.

I was going to "delete" my account next year but will probably stick around even though I am no longer "in business!"

Keep on surfing...
