I have to laugh when I see "action ads" or whatever the real name of them is, but it's nothing more than a pop-up...why pay $27?
If someone purchased this thing can explain why it is different than a pop-up, I'd love to hear about it.
Very curious.
Thanks

You and me. :D There's some attention grabber I don't mind (love the peelaways), but holding your own content hostage like some of these scripts do is kind of purpose defeating. I'm not biting.

Right on Marie, after 10 years of doing this stuff ( internet sales Full-Time ) they come and go quick! Wasn't it Barnum that said, " a sucker is born every minute" or he is quoted as saying it and never really did...........maybe it was Tiny Tim that said it:>
Who know's...They are POP-UPS, get the scripts for FREE!

LOL
I never see most of the 'ads' because I block the scripts from running.
I also have flash disabled, so I don't get these bandwidth hoggers wasting my bandwidth :)
but I do agree - gimicky stuff like this leaves me cold - I ignore them, so as far it goes with using them to advertise to me - it is a waste of time :D

Well, I don't know about the hype, but the theory is that it's a last ditched attempt to increase the opt-in rate and hence the conversion ratio of whatever it is you're selling.
After glancing over the looong sales letter and before getting ready to click away, the "action ads" draw the reader's attention for just a few more seconds in order to make a second decision.
I don't know whether it's worth paying $27 though...

It's a pop up...is sheep's clothing and I really feel bad for the people that waste hard earned money to purchase this when the scripts are free, plus most people hate pop up's and move on...fast from them. So the poor person, paid money for a deterent on their own site??????

Hi deha...,
If I well forget you are from UK.
So, why have you wrote "I do agree" instead "I agree" at an affermative expression?LOL
It's only a joke of course, I understood the same and think so all other members.
About the matter you are talking I don't know anything.
Take care

Hi deha...,
I apologize!
I too made a mistake: I would mean "If I well remember".
As you can see, we all can do a mistake!:)
Take care

Noemi,
It is the way I write, and speak :)
It was emphasis on the agreement, making it an active action as opposed to a passive expression of feeling.

The reason people use it, it probably works. There are some things you can do to your website that seem like it'll make you lose customers, but really it gains customers.
Also, buying scripts you can find elsewhere for free can have advantages. For instance the FAB script technically you could make yourself free, but buying it they have it all packaged and ready to go. So it depends on what you are doing and how much you know about javascript. You could learn how to do it all, or you could pay $27 to have someone give it to you.
