Can we have a section that is just ALL out ads!!!
Then people can get it off their minds and go there
The monitors have a beautiful easy life...until they catch a bad person
It just makes everything so simple...What's the big deal?
Spammer's will get hammered by the members
We are adults...not children.
If you catch a bad child...send it to the coner
Don't treat everyone as "little bad kid's", that need
someone to watch over them...gimme a break.

Actually it's funny, if you can't sell it on the exchange
do you really think it will pass in the forum?
NA!!!!

The advertising section is split into two sections called "Websites"/"URL Manager" and "Start Surfing". ;)

I think that sums up my view here. :P

Hi palladan,
We can advertise in TE SXC.
Would you advertise also in this forum?
Why?
Only the same people may view your adverts.:)
Take care

Advertising in forums is a waste of time. Blatantly, I mean. As I read on another forum:

"WARNING....NOBODY HERE IS INTERESTED IN YOUR BIZOP!!!
You post a biz op ad here and who do you think will read it?

Other people posting biz op ads thats who.....if anybody.

So ask yourself this....

Are you interested in a biz Op?

Likely not.... since you already have one and are advertising it here right?

So....don't you think others are thinking the same thing?

"Read mine, join mine....but I have no interest in yours".

Besides that....it violates Forum policy to blatantly promote your bizop anywhere in this community. It's called spam!

So advertising your biz-op is TWICE being stupid. (sorry...you need the truth between the eyes). "

I couldn't have put it any better. We're here to share, not to waste our time spamming each other. Yuck!

Agreed Lisa.

Also there is a difference between advertising and marketing.

When you need to expose yourself or your products and services to a market, you advertise. Marketing, however, is the art and science of how to get people interested enough in you or your products and services to buy from you.

Let me ask you this: if everyone in this forum were to push (advertise) their products to you, how would you know who to trust and what to buy? Not everyone has the same needs or agenda and so my bizopp may not be suitable for you, and in fact I may even drive you away because I'm like a pushy salesman forcing you to try my products which you may not even want or need.

However, if I appear to be a problem solver or authority figure like DeHawkinz who answers people's questions and solves people's problems, you'll be attracted in some way to him and trust him in some degree. In that way, he's marketing himself and his skills and knowledge to everyone BUT without forcing himself on anyone. If you had a problem or needed some advice or wanted to look for a bizopp, who would you turn to? A pushy salesman or an authority figure?

It's the way you found yourself looking at DeHawkinz's signature link even though he wasn't pushing it (your What about a PS? thread). In forums, the method of advertising whether using a PS or a signature link takes second place to whether to perceive a person to be a person you can trust or a figure of authority.

Hope I answered in some way why marketing and branding yourself is more effective than just promoting your bizopp, especially in forums or social communities. I'll leave the reason why there are prohibitions against advertising in forums to the moderators.

Take care.

The reason for no advertising section is two fold:

1) The content on this forum affects the search engine rankings. Ads would just negatively affect the rankings.

2) Members are given points for posting in the forum. Ads would just inflate these points and not encourage help and usefullness.
