Was just wondering how to get referrals to surf? I have pm them about Fridays, Saturdays, and surf to 100 pages and claim a prize. I have even gave out credits..........out of 15 people in my downline only 1 person has surfed this month......
Any ideas?:confused::confused:

Hi lajab5,
It's not easy to get referrals to surf unless they are surfers who treasure the credits earned to promote/advertise their programs. There are some TEs that I have 60+ referrals but only a few surf sometimes, & 1 or 2 will surf more consistently.
I used to write motivating tips & guides just to get their attention but only a few responded with a reply. In terms of log-in to surf, it's very weak. I also gave away some credits. I will just get on with my on surfing.
Don't worry as there will be 1 or 2 eventually that you had sponsorsed that might surf to be in Top20 Rank. I was wondering like you too, on how to get them to surf ?
Cheers...
Frankie

Unless someone has notifications set up, they won't know you're sending pms. It actually sounds like you may be pushing too hard.
They two keys are 'by example' and consistency. Just surf yourself and let your referrals know that they can have your ear if they need help or ideas. I'm not very outgoing in terms of initiating contact, I have a strong respect for people's space - including their inbox, but I do my best to answer inquiries within a day. I have found that once I established that I was indeed present and active, a referral would be more inclined to also be active.
I suppose only a small percentage of my referrals across all programs are what you can call active, but the few that I have connected with are very active.

In my experience, it is a lot like the saying "You can lead a horse to water, but you cannot make him drink".
1 out of 15 is about average for active downlines.
Just do not let inactive downlines discourage you.
As already stated in previous posts, just make sure your downline knows you are there if they need you and send out occasional encouragements.

It does make one wonder why anybody bothers joining Hit Exchanges...Check the stats...Only a very small fraction of any Exchanges Membership surfs on a regular basis IF at all! Granted there is probably a reasonable explanation as to why this occurs like work, family, and a long list of numerous other reasons that are used...
Sure, I am guilty of not surfing on a regular basis at times myself...
We all, of course, have many responsibilities that must be met and
as a consequence of these obligations, something has to give, like
spending all that time clicking one's finger to the bone...
This is just an observation from spending many hours on the Net...
God Bless and Keep on surfing...
I think the problem is this:
They join without really knowing what it is, or they don't like the system (Well, go figure).
Then they don't bother to delete their account before leaving.
IMHO accounts that are inactive for some time, should be removed automatically, unless the user has informed that he's on temporary leave.
Every TE should publish the number of active members, not the total (or as SX does, the number of active surfers "now").
I guess unverified accounts will disappear after a while.

Oh there are plenty of surfers, it's just they're spread out. ;)
I disagree on kicking people. If they remain unactivated, okay, but someone that actually confirms is worth letting stay. They are really the only one that loses out by not surfing and even then, you don't have to be a big surfer to be a good promoter. I get random referrals throughout a large number of traffic exchanges because I have created quite a network via downline builders.

I've had many members go away for months and come back and be way active again. So there is a 90 day inactivity period that'll "deactivate" your account. I think the # actively surfing is a good one, but you won't see many publish that ;-)

I know Tim.
I was away myself for several months (a year?). But I actually deleted my account in most of the TEs and systems that I had been using, because I felt it was the right thing to do. Many systems have several old accounts that haven't been in use for 2-3 years, and they are still "active" and used in the member count, and I think it's dishonest and serves no good purpose.
If the deactivation of a user implies that he's not counted as a member, that's good enough for me -- and you're right, StartXchange is one of the very few TEs that publishes the number of currently active surfers.
That kind of honesty throughout makes StartXchange a very pleasant place to be. There are no scams or hypes or lies here.

Depending on how many TE's your a member of, it can be hard to keep surfing on a regular basis with all of them. I'm a meneber of about 12 and although i'm at home most of the day, it's hard to keep up with them all:D

Getting referrals is not so difficult, especially if you're upgraded.
Making them active ... hhhmmm, it's not so easy.
I have to be honest with myself. I'm a member in many TEs, but not in all i'm active. In some i'm just a passenger, or very rarely active. In some indeed i'm a good surfer, surfing regularly daily or at least weekly.
I wonder if myself i'm not so active in all why should i ask being active my referrals. So i think we have to be first active in a TEs, not just a passenger, then maybe our referrals will be.
The second problem is how to keep touch with them. Even if we have their emails or permission to write to them, it's not sure they want this. They receive lots of emails, maybe PM like us, being full of them.
I have some referrals in SX, not so much, and some of them even are not very active, though they are randomly. In the last few months i've decided sending to all of them only once a month a PM and rewarding as a monthly contest active members. I would like also weekly reward them, but we have only Monthly Views/Stats. Privately anyone want, of course i'm ready any time helping them.
But i think forcing them even with rewards it's not a good idea. In my opinion any reward has to be according to any activity. And rewards should be just for encouraging them/us and not replacing the basic earnings (credits, banners or whatever else). I saw even in SX many confused the rewards/gifts with the basic earnings. They/us treat the rewards as a must receiving things.
And also i think if we are serious earlier or later on they will follow us, without pressing them in any way, but offering our help whenever they need.
My friendly regards,
Erzsebet

I belong to several traffic exchanges. I surf Startxchange 20 - 100 pages per day and sometimes 200+ the others I surf 5 - 20 pages a month and sometimes 50+
how many pages I surf depends on what I think I am getting from the traffic exchange
