Hi friends,

I had a friendly talk on this subject with Tim yesterday on his new live feature. We kept on talking by email, Tim thx for that, as usually your are great!

Tim told me something really interesting.

Let say you love your affiliate program or your home made page/website. You hope that plenty of visitors will love it too, so you put your affiliate page/splash page/website into rotation on some TEs.

Bang! I'm tracking my results with TEToolBox, I discovered that finally SX doesn't give me the best ratio. Other TEs are doing better, surprisingly the ones where I'm anonymous (no forum, no relationship).

Tim told me may be my offers don't suit SX and would suit better other TEs.

Food for thought...
;)

This is what I do.. I keep a good amount of traffic in all the exchanges I enjoy, and put alot more in the exchanges I'm getting results in at the time. For instance, a recent campaign I started getting double the signups to my blog on Traffic-Splash. So you can bet I'll be putting more credits on it in there.

But that doesn't mean I drop the others. I've found that different offers get better results at different places over different times. IE: I haven't always gotten double results on Traffic-Splash and I'm not getting double results advertising StartXchange on that exchange. But for that offer I am!

That is why tracking is so important!

Side note - Something I've thought of but not sure how it comes into play.. Branding. Currently we have no way of knowing if someone who signed up saw the ad on other exchanges first. They say it takes 7 views of an ad before someone is willing to buy. So how do we know if the first 6 were on one exchange, and the last happens to be another. The first exchange doesn't get any "credit" for helping brand. Something I've though alot about and am interested in creating a tracker for =P

agreed tim all your egs in one basket so to speak would be the wrong thing to do I have discovered that one page on one exchange will do great and bomb out on another I often wonder if its because the same people are seeing it as on the original exchange if thats truely the case they could be saying oh I saw that on sx no need to look again

Personally I use different pages for different exchanges and when I can I change them round so it is fresh new and in your face :)
