View Full Version : This can't possibly work

I got an email from another traffic exchange where they detail the changes to the surf timer.
Can someone with more knowledge of these things please explain how this can actually work because I can't wrap my head around it. It seems to me that they can't possibly tell an upgraded member that their pages will be shown for 19 seconds when an upgraded member only views for 11 seconds, and free members view for 15 seconds. :confused:
Here's a summary of the email.
~~~
Free members: 15 seconds per page view.
Upgrade 1: your pages 16 second timer
pages you view 14 second timer
Upgrade 2: your pages 17 second timer
pages you view 13 second timer
Upgrade 3: your pages 18 second timer
pages you view 12 second timer
Upgrade 4: your pages 19 second timer
pages you view 11 second timer
Upgrade 5: your pages 19 second timer
pages you view 11 second timer
Free members get their page shown to other free members for 15 seconds.
After that, they display upgraded members sites at the different timers. But as an upgraded member, it appears that your are telling me that only free members will see my site, since upgraded members are promised shorter timers.
I think you will only end up with a whole lot of dissatisfied members.
I think they've made it too gimicky and I'd drop the site.
As an upgraded member, I'd rather have a consistent timer and more credits per page viewed.
Unless you are a member of this particular Traffic Exchange,
I would suggest that you "DELETE THIS MESSAGE"...
That is what I do with the majority of the messages...
I only open the ones from my friends and any periodical
that I am subscribed to...
God Bless and Keep on surfing...
That was my take on it too.
How can they think it will work?
I am a member of this exchange, but I think that once my credits on my sites run out, I'll drop them.
It seems as though this particular Exchange does not administer to their
membership in a manner that instills much trust which is too bad and also
tends to put Exchanges in a bad light!
Usually when I am unhappy with an Exchange,
I pass any remaining credits to my downline
and terminate the account...
Well, my credits don't seem to be moving at all. I'll give it a few days. If I don't get more hits, I'll delete my account.
I wish you all the best and it is really too bad
you have to take that step with an Exchange!
I stopped using one particular TE several months ago. There were more than 3000 credits in the account.
I checked a few days ago. There were more than 3000 credits left.....
Of course I won't delete the account yet, but I don't surf there either.
I have one or two accounts like that Inge either my downline keeps it active or the exchange isnt using the credits for some reason probably not popular enough. I do belong to one that keeps changing the timer but I virtually never surf it as a lowered timer isnt an incentive for me to surf or upgrade
I think the problem on some of these is that they give away too many credits each month to upgraded members. I upgraded at this exchange because there was a great deal I couldn't pass up. But with everyone getting so many free credits, no one surfs. Why surf if you can get credits without it?
What I have gathered from buying credits at different exchanges including SX, it seems that it is still necessary for you to actively surf anyway IF you want your credits to be used up faster...And it might also depend on your site settings...for instance: weight, number of days per week, number of credits assigned, etc...And of course the Exchange's Terms of Service...
BJ is right, many will deliver faster to people who are surfing. However you shouldn't be required to surf to get your purchased traffic delivered.
